Fossil Free California works to end financial support for climate-damaging fossil fuels and promote a just transition to a low-carbon economy with a particular focus on public and private financing of fossil fuel companies and related enterprises. We promote fossil fuel divestment by institutions and individuals, with emphasis on CalPERS and CalSTRS, the nation’s two largest public pension funds. We work statewide with allied environmental and climate action groups and the state legislature to work toward a just transition to a low-carbon economy for California.
