Take Action – Email Your Assemblymember

We need your help passing SB 252 (the Fossil Fuel Divestment Bill), which would require CalPERS and CalSTRS—the two largest public pension funds in the country—to divest over $14 billion from fossil fuel companies.

Teachers and state employees have made their voices heard: our retirement savings shouldn't be used to capitalize the fossil fuel industry. Over 15 statewide unions representing over 480,000 Californian workers as well as 140 organizations have signed on in support of SB 252.

When you email your Assemblymember, be sure to mention any union or organizational affiliation.

We also encourage you to share your personal reasons for supporting SB 252, such as the improved financial pension returns for workers, or the ways climate change is affecting your life, from drought, to wildfire, to extreme heat, to floods. Your voice counts!
