Ready to break up with your bank over DAPL, prisons, fossil fuels?  Learn what you need to do to move your checking, savings, & credit cards to financial institutions that reflect your values.

Speakers:

Edie Irons is Communications Director of TransForm, a statewide transportation equity advocacy group. Experienced in outreach, policy advocacy, and political organizing, Edie is committed to creating a more just, sustainable world. She moved her money from Wells Fargo to a credit union in early 2012 and hasn’t looked back.

 

David Elliston is a member of the Divestment team at 350 Silicon Valley. He manages all his own investments, and plays “points roulette” with no fewer than 9 credit and loyalty cards.

 

 

 

Annie McShiras is an investment associate at Self-Help Federal Credit Union, one of the fastest growing community development credit unions in the country with 80,000 members. Annie has been promoting movements for economic justice, the solidarity economy, and systems change for the past ten years.

 

Maritessa Bravo Ares is a Community Engagement Officer at Beneficial State Foundation, an organization that aspires to build and advance a socially-responsible financial model that transforms the banking industry.  The Foundation owns Beneficial State Bank – a CDFI and B Corp certified social enterprise headquartered in Oakland.

Nicole Ghio is a senior campaign representative with the Sierra Club’s international team, working with partners around the world to accelerate the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy. This includes advocating that financial institutions shift their policies to support clean energy and energy access.
